How to choose a solitaire that suits the hand
2 June 2026 · 4 min read

Everyone arrives asking about carat. We usually start somewhere else: the band, the setting height, and how the hand actually moves through a day.
A fine band makes a stone look larger. A raised setting catches more light but snags on knitwear. A lower bezel or basket sits flatter and lives more comfortably under gloves and gym bars.
Cut matters more than size. A well-cut half carat outperforms a lazy full carat in every light in the room, and it costs less.
If you are buying as a surprise, borrow a ring they already wear and bring it in — we can size from it, and we will resize free within the first year regardless.
